Hey E.- Just a follow-up. My son was recruited to play for Coach Mark Nareau at Lassen College along with one of his teammates from Triple Threat. I'm taking him up in 2 days. We've called the last telephone #'s we had for Mo but they went straight to a computer voiced message. Hopefully he reads this and gives me a call so I can thank him.

Thanks,E.My son's 17, 6'6" now and plays tour ball for Triple Threat here in LV. He and his squad won the Sports Authority "Hoop it up" championship here a couple of weeks ago. MO didn't know us from Adam but said he was moved by the passion my wife showed toward supporting our sons and our respect for the game and its traditions. He said he hadn't even touched a ball in 8 years, but felt something special in the things she said. After 3 weekends of coaching my son, he left his handweights with him along with advice and perspective that still lives in him. He may not have had an illustrious NBA career but he did win an NCAA National Championship under one of the finest coaches and left one hell of a memory with all of us.

Mo is living happily with his wife here in Las Vegas. My wife met up with him at a Wal-mart while they were in line. She had no clue who he was but struck up a conversation with him because of his size and my kids being involved in basketball programs here in LV. My wife told him that one of the reasons we picked the house we live in was because it had a Sport Court in the back yard so our son could play due to his passion for the game. My wife then asked Mo if he knew where my son could get personal training and Mo said he would be happy to come over and work with him for a few weekends. Since I had followed UNLV BB since the Tark days, when she called to say Mo was coming over, at first I didn't believe her. When all 7' of him walked out the back door I was blown away! First by the fact that it was actually him and second that he would take a personal interest in my son, a 16 year old 6'4" 220 Lb Junior. This man had philosophies and insights to the good, bad and ugly side of college and professional BB. He even sat with us and took in a Lakers-Celtics game on TV. This is a man who loved the game dearly and suffered through the beatdown that this city's and UNLV's leaders put Tark and the team through, only because they couldn't stand to share the Vegas spotlight with Tark and his team. I consider Mo to be a good man and a good friend to our family. No matter what his detractors say, we will always remember his unselfish acts in sharing his love of the game and lighting a fire in my boys.

I liked that Clippers team back then... Elmore Spencer + Stanley Roberts used to toss their weight around the paint, cleaning the glass, throwing elbows and getting ejected. So much fun!

Where the hell is Elmore Spencer these days? I moved to Atlanta in 1984. I met Elmore when he was only 15. I could not belive the size of this guy at that age.
Not only does he have a dumb look on his card, but the dumbest thig he said to me was that girls don't play basketball. I told him well where I come ( Philly) from girls could circles around him.
Glad to say his sister was nice.

Dave- Are you hoping the Clipps draft OJ Mayonnaise?
