Six Month Stats
August 4, 2008 by Evil E
RotoEvil.com just turned 6 months old. Shout outs to Malaysia & Jamaica!
I had heard of Google Analytics before, but I didn’t fully realize its capabilities until I started this site and setup an account. For those that aren’t familiar, you just enter a code (that Google gives you) into the body of your site, and then it tracks almost everything imaginable for you. The location of your visitors, where they are coming from, what their internet connection and screen resolution is, what pages they are clicking on, how much time they are spending on each page, etc…
So here are some “6 Month Stats” for RotoEvil.com. Keep in mind that my site is still in its infancy (as far as websites go), and I’m hoping it will grow and evolve into something special. Of course, this site would mean nothing if people weren’t looking at it, so if you’re checking out my site (for the 1st time or for the 100th time), I would like to thank you. From the bottom of my sinister heart.

How freakin cool!! The Turks & Caicos Islands are a super scuba diving spot with extremely clear warm water and great sea life. If I recall correctly, lots of artifical reefs from downed planes or wwII war ships. I always wanted to dive there but, alas, my diving days are over (I get seasick under water!! gross? – yes)
St. Kitts & Nevis Islands – also a diver’s paradise and another place I wanted to go when I was diving (a very short lived hobby).
Malawi I have heard of but only because I watch a lot of Discovery and Travel channel programs. A relatively poor African Country. If I recall, it used to be part of Rhodesia but became separate country around the late 60′s or early 70′s?
Not sure about Vanuatu but suspect also in Africa??
The Republic of Vanuatu is an island nation located in the South Pacific Ocean. The archipelago is located some 1,750 km east of Australia, 500 km north-east of New Caledonia, west of Fiji and south of the Solomon Islands. It was named New Hebrides during its colonial period. (That explains why I didn’t know where it is.)
Vanuatu is only 2.5 hours flying time North East of Brisbane and 3.5 hours from Sydney, Australia. It’s a little over 2 hours from Auckland, New Zealand.
There are regular flights from New Zealand, Honiara, Australia, Noumea and Fiji.
History
Many of the islands of Vanuatu have been inhabited for thousands of years, the oldest archaeological evidence found dating to 2000 BC. In 1605, the Portuguese explorer Pedro Fernández de Quirós became the first European to reach the islands, believing it to be part of Terra Australis. Europeans began settling the islands in the late 18th century, after British explorer James Cook visited the islands on his second voyage, and gave them the name New Hebrides.
In 1887, the islands began to be administered by a French-British naval commission. In 1906, the French and British agreed to an Anglo-French Condominium on the New Hebrides.
During World War II, the islands of Efate and Espiritu Santo were used as allied military bases. In the 1960s, the ni-Vanuatu people started to press for self-governance and later independence; full sovereignty was finally granted by both European nations on July 30, 1980. It joined the UN in 1981, and the Non-Aligned Movement in 1983.
Yeah, I wouldn’t mind going to ANY of those islands.
The last part, “keyword searches” is absolutely hilarious!
